Bob Capstick has over 40 years of experience in the nuclear industry and is currently a consultant to the 3 Yankee Companies (Yankee Atomic Electric Company, the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company, and the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company).
He is a member of the Nuclear Waste Strategy Coalition Executive Committee; the American Nuclear Society Fuel Cycle & Waste Management Division; the ANS Northeastern Section Executive Committee; the Nuclear Energy Institute’s Government Affairs Committee; the New England Council’s Energy and Environment Committee; as well as several NEI Nuclear Used Fuel Storage & Transportation related Working Groups and Task Forces. He was previously a member of the Decommissioning Plant Coalition Steering Committee representing Yankee Atomic and Connecticut Yankee.
Bob received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Physics from Boston College; a Master of Public Administration degree from the Suffolk University Graduate School of Management; as well as taken post graduate courses at the Boston College Graduate School of Arts & Sciences – Physics Department; the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Politics; and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
His prior professional positions include: Director of Regulatory Affairs for the 3 Yankee Companies; Director of Government & Public Affairs for Yankee Atomic Electric Company and Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company; Project Manager for Duke Engineering & Services’ Northeast Regulatory Group; Principal Licensing Engineer with the Yankee Atomic Electric Company’s Nuclear Services Division’s Regulatory & Industry Affairs Department; Senior Licensing Engineer for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station; Research Analyst with the Energy Research Group, Inc.; and Assistant Director of the Massachusetts State Legislature’s Science & Technology Committee Science Resource Office.
